EmailDavid has served as Associate Pastor at Midway since 2006, overseeing worship, music, young adults and missions. In worship, he seeks to keep Christ the center and the exclusive focus of worship, using Scripture and prayer as essential means of knowing and communing with God, as well as a wide variety of music, both new and old. Realizing that young adults in the Millennial Generation see their world through very different eyes than previous generations, Bible study, outreach and fellowship for young adults utilizes the technology of the digital age to lead to meaningful, accountable and growing relationships with Christ centered in the eternal truths of the Bible. He has a passion for missions and desires to see all peoples come to know the glory of God and the joy of living in Him and for Him. Years ago, after realizing his heart was not burdened about unreached people groups, David began to pray that God would lay His heart over his own. God did, and since that time he has sought to share his passion that every tribe, language, people and nation come to know and rejoice in Christ, starting in his own back yard, extending to the ends of the earth.
David enjoys Bible study, theological reading, mentoring, and thinking about being in better shape while doing yard work. People who have influenced his thinking and living include Augustine, John Calvin, Jonathan Edwards, Amy Carmichael, Charles Spurgeon, A. W. Tozer, Henry Blackaby, Richard Owen Roberts, John Piper, and Paul, his elementary-aged protégé.
